Becky Barnes
Dental Hygienist | Office Manager
Becky began her career in the dental field in 1990. She began working here while completing her externship hours for her dental assistant degree over 30 years ago. Becky had such a passion for the dental field she went on to get her A.S. in Dental Hygiene graduating in 1998. As well as caring for our patients using her hygiene skills, she also takes on the role of office manager and receptionist. Becky has held every position in this office which makes her an asset to our practice. She is married to Jim, whom she met while working at our office, and they have twin boys Clay and Garrett.
Jessica Ellis
Dental Hygienist
Jessica has been with our practice since 2016 as our full-time hygienist. She began her career in dentistry in 2003 when she graduated from Erwin Technical School as a Certified Dental Assistant. Jessica began as an assistant in Pediatrics and then moved on to an Orthodontic office. In 2010 she graduated with her A.S. in Dental Hygiene from Sant Fe College. She is a life-long resident of Plant City and her family has resided here for many generations. She has been a perfect fit for our team and due to her family history in Plant City she knows or is related to many of our patients. She is married to Chandler and they have one son, Henley.
Antonia Hernandez
Dental Assistant
Antonia relocated to the Plant City area with her family in 1996. She has been with our practice since she graduated from Erwin Technical College with her Dental Assistant Certification in 2002. After completing her externship hours, we were lucky enough to attain Antonia as a full-time assistant. She and Dr. Mathews work seamlessly together which provides our patients with pleasant, skilled, and efficient visits. On her time off Antonia enjoys day trips with her husband Ignacio and their 3 children.
Jennifer Christian
Front Desk
Jennifer has been in dentistry for 27 years and 23 of those years have been with our practice. After finishing her Certification at Concorde Career Institute, she started working in the Plant City area. Jennifer has been a chairside assistant for most of her dental career and now she brings that knowledge to our front desk as a receptionist. Jennifer has 2 children and enjoys riding her Harley in her spare time.
Lidia Sanchez
Front Desk
Lidia is a Plant City native whom we were lucky enough to have as a patient in the practice prior to her becoming an employee. She acquired the knowledge at our office to attain her Expanded Functions Certification through on-the-job training in 2015. In the past 5 years she has held many positions in our practice and is now working the front desk as a receptionist. Because of her wide range of experience in our office you may find her assisting our hygienists or Dr. Mathews also.
Michelle Ross
Dental Assistant
Michelle is originally from Tampa and has been in the Plant City area since 2014. She graduated from Concorde Career Institute in 2020. She found our office one day when she was on her way to Chick-Fil-A. Michelle enjoys helping others with their oral health and making them comfortable for their dental visits. She has 2 children and in her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, going to the beach to watch the sunset and spending time with her 4 brothers.
Travis Hill
Hygiene Assistant
Travis is originally from Tallahassee and moved to the area in 1995. He enjoyed going to the dentist as a child and decided to make a career of providing patient care to others. Travis graduated in 2017 from Concorde Career Institute with his Expanded Functions in Dental Assisting. While going through the assisting program at Concorde he was able to maintain Deans Honor Roll for the entire length of the program. He has 3 children; Adyson, Travis, and Troy and they enjoy volunteering at the Humane Society as well as staying active in their church. You might also find them spending time at an amusement park, the beach or hiking.
Miranda Jimenez
Dental Assistant
Miranda was born in Tampa and has lived in the Plant City area for the majority of her life. She chose dentistry as a career because of the importance your oral health has on your overall health, she wants to help others have a beautiful smile. Miranda attended Erwin Technical College to obtain her Expanded Functions Certification. While attending Erwin she was a member of the National Honor Society. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and trying new foods with her husband and daughter.
