Started at the office over 20 yrs ago. As always, professional, polite and thorough. Never recommends more than needed, always provides estimates. Ultimately, you’re in the driver’s seat of your dental care. Most definitely recommend.

As a disabled veteran with anxiety issues, Dr Matthews and staff have treated me so well that I am at peace during my visits; rather it be cleanings or procedures. I have always felt like family here.

From front office to dental assistants to Dr Matthews, the staff is friendly, attentive, efficient, skilled, and knowledgeable. My crowns fit well and when a crown was too short because a manufacturer’s error, they sent it back to the manufacturer to be corrected.
They got me in within an hour, took X-rays and my sore jaw is a result of damage from an intubation for a surgery several weeks ago. Said it is healing and I was grateful for the good news.
I’ve been with Dr. Matthews for over 20 years… I’ve had a lot of dental issues and bad dentistry in the past and I’m very happy to say I found my forever dentist!

I suffered with tooth pain over the New Years holiday weekend and called on 1/2 and got an appointment on 1/3 at 8 am! All staff were extremely professional, helpful and kind! When I didn’t understand something they were quick to explain! I received a referral to a specialist and looking forward to returning to Dr Mathews as an established patient. Thank you for your help, I feel a little like a lion getting a thorn removed from her paw. Lol

Used to dread going to the dentist when I was younger due to a bad experience in South Tampa, but thanks to Dr. Mathews and his entire staff, no longer dread the visit. They are all knowledgeable, professional, & most of all friendly, courteous and helpful! Would give them 6 stars if possible.

Every time I go to this dentist, I leave with a smile- no pun intended. He cares about my teeth and actually takes his time with me. He even took over making my molds for my bleaching process to make sure they were perfect! The way he injects anesthesia is perfect. You don’t even feel when he injects it. He has feather hands and has a natural bedside manner. He is great. The staff is great and all are friendly! I drive far to see him and I hope he loves forever so my children can see him! :)

I lost a filling from a molar. Dr. Matthews x-rated it, checked the problem, and recommended root canal because the tooth had a deep cavity below the filling. Since I am going out of state for a while, he gave me a referral to bring to an endodontist where I will be vacationing. My wife and I both feel Dr. Matthews does a great job and is extremely knowledgeable about all things regarding our teeth. The front office and his dental assistants add to the positive experiences we have there.

Where do I start? As a scaredy-cat adult, I came to Dr. Mathews about 10-12 years ago with multiple issues from childhood & terrible experiences with other dentists through a referral from my in-laws. From day 1 Dr. Mathews was kind, patient, knowledgeable and just a genuinely nice person. I couldn’t believe how wonderful he really was to me, after such traumatic & emotional experiences with another dentist. Needless to say, here I am 10 years later, multiple issues tackled and I drive over 30 minutes to come to his office & will not go anywhere else until he retires or cannot do my work in house. He is still as caring, compassionate and courteous as he was 10 years ago. He & his staff always make me feel welcomed & like family. He is passionate about his craft & will not charge you any more than needed…he is an honest and caring man. I’m blessed to be able to be his patient now for many years. I highly recommend you give him a try!!!

I have been a patient of Dr Mathews and his staff for several years. I am totally pleased with the courtesy, treatment, and concern for any pain that I might fear and feel. His staff is super They call me by name when I walk in. The ladies in the office know how to respond to questions quickly and to the point. Becky cleans my teeth every 3 months. She makes the entire cleaning easy for me. Dr. Mathews office is 30 plus minutes from home for me and well worth the travel time for great dental care
These people care about their patients. They are gentle and try to cater to individual needs. They have great integrity and don't try to scam you into getting unnecessary work done. They tell you what you need and then let you decide when you want to schedule it. I drive a long way (1-2 hrs) just because it's worth it.
All the staff were friendly and attentive from the moment I got there, they greeted me quickly and I did not have to wait very long before they took me to the examination room, the dental assistant was excellent, she made sure I was comfortable, got the x ray quickly and was very knowledgeable, when Dr Mathews came in he was friendly and explained the x ray, he made the necessary adjustments to the tooth, I have always been nervous about going to the dentist but Dr Mathews and all the staff made this a very good experience, I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to my friends and family. Everyone in the office is very nice and they work well together. Dr Matthew's is very honest and only does the work that he knows you need. He doesn't make up things just to make lots of money for himself. We had been to another dentist in Valrico that would have done a lot of things my Dad didn't really need. He even talked about using fentanyl for a pain reliever! How scary! Dr Matthew's is very good when it comes to administering the shot for numbing. I'm so glad we came to Dr Matthew's office! Try him, you'll see what I mean!! Thank you Doc and staff!

I had a root canal and the ordered crown did not fit as well as Dr. Mathews preferred. I didn't mind having the temporary crown a little longer. No unnecessary procedures are forced on you like from other Dental practices. Billing is reasonable. Office staff is personable and helpful. Would highly recommend them.

As a person who has to go to different drs for other things I can tell you this office is number 1 on my list. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming! You can tell they enjoy their job and are not just in it for a paycheck.

Great job team! From the moment you walk in you're greeted nicely. Jen or Becky know you by name and made me feel right at home. Jessica then sat me down and cleaned my teeth leaving them feeling like new. In the end Dr. Mathews came in, inspected my teeth and asked how I was doing and if there was anything I was having issues or concerns with. He checked my teeth again, made some notes, and I agreed to check back in 1 to 2 weeks if I had anymore issues. Minutes later, we were done. Like clock work, I was in and out in time. I made a follow up appt and off to work I went. All that attention and it was only a cleaning I needed. Loved it, be back soon Dr. Mathews. Great job Team. ??

Would recommend coming to see Dr. Matthews. I was having a lot of pain and they were the only dentist office that would see me right away. The doctor explained everything that was going on and was extremely pleasant. I have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist (like I’m sure a lot of others do) he and his staff made me feel safe and that I was going to get the help I need. I’m glad I’ve found a great dentist in town.

The only dentist that we will ever use. Dr. Matthews is an excellent dentist. He never tries to make you do any dental work that is unnecessary. He is kind, gentle, and thorough. His staff is knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. There are 3 "corporate" dental offices within 2 miles of our home, but we drive 28 miles each way to see Dr. Matthews and his smiling staff. It's worth the trip.

Going to the dentist unfortunately isn’t a pleasure visit but thankfully Dr Mathews and his staff make it a healthy experience They are always pleasant and knowledgeable they know me make me feel comfortable Thank you for caring for my family
Dr. Mathews and staff are amazing. They make you feel very comfortable. Dr. Mathews is very quick and made my visit go very smooth. I have never liked going to the dentist but Dr Mathews and staff have taken that fear away. HIGHLY recommend them!!
Unlike so many chain dental offices these days, Dr. Mathews makes you feel that he has your best interest at heart. The staff is extremely friendly and capable and all procedures are totally pain free.
